2011-2012 Anne Smigel Scholarship Computer Science,Canada


The Fund recalls a life that Ms. Smigel dedicated to education, including ten years as a teacher, nine years as a resource teacher and 25 years as an elementary school principal. Mrs. Smigel was the first woman appointed to the Ukrainian-Canadian capital in the Winnipeg School Division No. be

1.Has completed at least 30 hours per week at the University of Manitoba, each faculty or school (bachelor or diploma) or a university.
2.any enrolled in a college or a school or university, completed at least one course (3 points) in the Ukrainian Canadian Heritage Studies;
3.Has reached GPA (minimum 3.0);
4.Enrolls as full-time or part-time in at least one course (3 points) in the Ukrainian Canadian Heritage Studies in the scholarship is in any faculty or school at the University of Manitoba and
5.Best showing interest and promise in the study of the Ukrainian Canadian Heritage Studies, as verified by a combination of a letter of intent by the applicant and a letter of recommendation.


Applicants must submit an application with the following:

1.A brief statement of interest for the study of the Ukrainian Canadian Heritage Studies and the reasons why they are interested in this particular area
2.A current grades
3.A letter of recommendation from a teacher in a post-secondary institution and
4.Plans for courses in 2011-12
At a time when income from the Fund allow two or more scholarships at the discretion of the jury may be offered.
The selection committee is appointed by the Director of the Center for Ukrainian Studies Canada.
